With many years of experience in social work and disability support as well as in tech, Jolane has a diverse skill set and a solid background of working with people. In his role as Technology Lead, Jolane works with Today’s tech team to formulate and implement design solutions.

Jolane joined Today in early 2019, after having worked as a Senior Front-End Developer at FanHub Media. In this role he led the team behind the AFL’s Ladder Predictor, which has had over five million hits (and proudly 0 bugs). Prior to that he was a Lead Developer at Cornwell Brand Design, and a Senior Web Developer at Efront Web Agency. He also worked for ten years at The Royal Children’s Hospital in a largely non-tech role, although he helped the developers in delivering internal products.

Jolane is passionate about new developments in web technology and is motivated by the desire to create efficient and smart systems. He enjoys working with people and also mentoring junior developers so they can achieve their goals. Jolane is a clear communicator, with a knack for translating technical concepts into easy to understand terms.
